What does a medical assistant do?
A job in the medical field isn’t necessarily what it looks like on TV. Medical assistants are often the first and last person a clinical patient sees. They take medical histories, check vital signs, and carry out basic diagnostic tests. They perform clinical procedures such as drawing blood, administering injections and assisting with minor surgical procedures. Medical assistants are always in the middle of the action.
Prepare for the certified medical assistant (CMA) exam
The CMA credential is a nationally recognized distinction that demonstrates your professionalism and proficiency in the field of medical assisting. To qualify for this exam, you must complete an accredited medical assisting program. Both the associate degree and diploma programs at MSB-St. Cloud are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
MSB-St. Cloud includes a whole class devoted to studying for the CMA exam. If you pass the test, you will become certified by the American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA) to be a CMA.
Prepare for the AART limited scope certification exam
Our medical assistant students learn radiology techniques and practice using real x-ray equipment. During their coursework, they prepare for the Limited Scope Radiology exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). They offer employers an exceptional set of skills for the clinical setting.
