Associate Degrees in Accounting

Accountants keep track of where the money is, and money is what keeps organizations humming. Money makes the difference between success and failure. These basic facts mean accounting jobs will never go out of style. An associate degree in accounting can prepare you for many jobs in this field, including positions in accounts payable and receivable, payroll, cost accounting, loan records and property accounting. Whatever area of accounting you pursue, you will not have to look very far to find job opportunities.

Management Accounting

Earning an associate degree in management accounting is a good way to start a career in the field. Students in this program study accounting systems, payroll, business writing, fraud examination and accounting principles. They also complete several general education electives that strengthen their skills in analysis, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and interpersonal relations. Graduates of this program are prepared for entry-level positions in many areas of accounting.

Accounting & Tax Specialist

Students in the accounting and tax specialist program take many of the same courses as those in the management accounting program. In addition, they receive training in tax accounting and take a review course for the Accrediting Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT) exam. This certification demonstrates a mastery of taxation principles and can give graduates an edge in the job market.

Complete coursework fully online

Like many of our college degree programs, our associate degrees in accounting are available entirely online. This allows a student to take classes when it’s most convenient, whether it’s at a cafe during lunch break or at the morning breakfast table. A student who chooses to take online courses has all the same academic support as a student taking classes on campus.
